Omar Pereney, a widely acclaimed chef, restaurateur and television personality may be one of the most recognized faces of Latin America cooking today.
Growing up in the restaurant industry, this former chef instructor at Le Cordon Bleu Mexico has already had a taste of celebrity chef status in his home country thanks to four seasons on The Gourmet with Yo Cocinero - Latin America’s top rated cooking program. In 2010, Omar made international headlines when, at age 16, he assumed his first executive chef position at "Dubai Restaurant & Lounge”
Omar brings to A’la Carte Foodservice Consulting Group his creativity, passion and ability to train staff and manage high volume kitchens. As A’la Carte’s culinary specialist he stays current with dining trends and works with clients on initial menu concepts, product sourcing, development of item’s for presentation and taste, item costing, inventory management, seasonal menu updates and kitchen labor models.
Omar has successfully provided culinary direction and kitchen management consulting on projects for clients with new and established operations in Houston, New York, Louisiana, and San Pedro Belize.
Before joining the A’la Carte team, he opened Peska Seafood Culture as executive chef showcasing seafood traditions from around the world.
Omar’s interest in education and feeding those in need has led to his current volunteer work at the Houston Food Bank
